Setting Up Your First Wordpress.com Blog
If you are just starting out with blogging, it is a good idea to set up a free Wordpress blog to get the feel of the blogging platform. It is fun and easy and did I mention it’s FREE
If you do a little preparation first, it is easier. Start with writing a post. A post is an article to be published on your blog. Choose your subject. I will use the example subject of ‘dog grooming’.
I need to write an article that is interesting and informative. The article should be your original work. If you use quotes or anything from another source, it is a good idea to mention the source. You need to be careful of copyright laws and of misleading people.
I write my articles in Word, edit and polish them and then copy and paste them to my blog.
Wordpress.com is a free service and they do not like commercial blogs so yours will need to be informative and useful, without being blatantly commercial.
When you have your article ready, it is time to sign up with Wordpress.com.
Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org as well as Wordpressdirect.com are all different. You want the free-hosted one (Wordpress.com) today.
